Joining Us
It is very easy to join NOYT, as there are no auditions and anyone aged 10-17 can join regardless of ability! Please be aware that we do have waiting lists that we would like you to join, but can’t estimate when you will join.
Several of our previous NOYT members have stayed on to volunteer at NOYT and some have gone on to have professional careers in theatre.
The aim is to provide an opportunity for young people from different walks of life to learn to work together with peers and adults; to learn skills in organisation and team work but above all, to enjoy themselves. We have a huge selection of costumes, props and scenery and actively encourage the team members to participate on “scenery and costumes weekend” to paint and decorate, make exciting new props and costumes for the up coming shows.

What to Expect
We run twice weekly sessions, running from approximately 6pm to 9pm depending on the shows being rehearsed - some start times are staggered depending on your child’s role. See below for more detail.
Summer times:
Thursday classes run from 6pm to 9pm in 1 hour slots.
Sunday classes run from 6pm to 9pm in 1 hour slots.
Winter times:
Staggered rehearsals from 6:30-8:30pm.
Other NOYT fun:
It’s not all about acting, we hold a range of activities for our members and families throughout out the year.
Welcome picnic and games, First Sunday in September on Goose Green.
Theatre trips, to the Oxford Playhouse.
Fun Weekend, our members write and produce small shows for the for family members along with games and competitions. Usually held in North Oxford Association Community Centre, in Summertown,
Christmas party.
End of summer show party for all cast, directors and family.
End of winter show party for the cast and directors.
